As part of a comprehensive campus master plan, Virginia Tech began the process of creating a state of the art, multi-disciplinary lab building. This new facility is intended to support their growing STEM programs (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics). The new facility is envisioned as a four story, 102,000 square foot building, to include Teaching Labs, Classrooms, a Discovery Suite, Specialty Labs, Offices, and Collaboration Areas. The building is designed to achieve a LEED Silver rating. The project is currently in the funding and bidding process.
We led the exterior design and detailing of precast, curtain wall and famed Hokie Stone wall systems from the design development phase through the construction documents. Numerous presentations were held during the design phase which eventually led to approval by Virginia Tech’s Campus Architect.
